Thinking of You

Hey stampers!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far.  This week has been a rough week for my family.  There was a death in the family and it has really shook me up.  I decided to use stamping as therapy and made a few cards.  You can see my first card, and read more about the situation HERE.  This was my second creation of the day.

I wanted an unconventional size for this card, so this measures at 3 1/2 x 5.  I wanted a clean look so I added another Whisper White panel to give the card some depth.  I still had my Delightful Daisy designer series paper out from my last card so I thought I would use up one of my scrap pieces and let the swirly pattern be my focal point.

I sponged the edges with a stamping sponge using Old Olive ink and wrapped some Whisper White Sheer 1/8" sheer ribbon twice around the entire panel and tied my bow.  I popped the entire panel using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Window Shopping set and is stamped in Old Olive and to add a little bling I added three Daffodil Delight sequins from the Iridescent Sequins set in varying sizes in the corner of the patterned paper panel.

I really love how this sweet and simple card turned out and hope that it will be a solace during this difficult time.

Paper Pumpkin: Wildflower Wishes

Wednesday, February 21, 2018
Hey stampers!  Today I am so excited to be showing off the February 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit!!  For some reason there was an issue with my postal carrier this past week, plus with Monday being a holiday, my kit was delayed and delivered late yesterday afternoon.  I have already been seeing some cute creations and couldn't wait to tear into the box myself.

This month's kit is called Wildflower Wishes.  I love the name!!  When I first opened up the box this sweet little reminder was on top.

Let this be YOUR reminder to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin by March 10th to receive the special 5th anniversary Paper Pumpkin kit!!  Not only is it going to come in a special box but there will also be a free gift!  Since I was one of the winners of the Red Box Challenge I am one of 10 lucky stampers that will receive their kit early.  I cannot WAIT to see what Stampin' Up! has in store!!  I will include a link at the bottom of this post and you can always message me (in the sidebar) if you have any questions.

Take a look at what's inside the February 2018 kit:

We've been having a ton of rain and flooding the past few day so when I saw the beautiful bright flowers my spirit was instantly uplifted.  I wanted to make all three of the sample cards but I've had a horrible migraine since last week, which has severely limited how much I do, but I was able to put a quick thank you card together.

I always follow along with the YouTube video that Stampin' Up makes every month, so my sample might look a little different than the one pictured on the cover of the kit.  I also like tweaking the little details to make the cards more my own.

I have never been a fan of Garden Green (I'm more of an Old Olive gal myself) but after stamping the sentiment on the vellum (which I LOVE) and on the patterned paper I could see myself converting!  It's a gorgeous color!

I have been seeing this technique that's been used on the main sentiment a lot lately and just love it.  Having the bright patterned paper peeking through gives just enough pop of flowers and bright, beautiful colors to the mainly monochromatic card.  I also love the shape of the thank you panel itself and that twine with the vellum leaves is the perfect accent.

This card is subtle yet beautiful.  I simply adore it!  I would've never though this color combo would work but it really does!

I have some alternative ideas for this kit that I will hopefully be able to post in the coming week.  The stamp set is wonderful and I really love the embellishments in this kit.  If I can get rid of this stinkin' migraine I'll be so much better! :)

Don't forget if you sign up for the the 3-month prepaid Paper Pumpkin subscription that your order will be eligible for Sale-A-Bration!!

My Daisy Valentine

Wednesday, February 14, 2018
Happy Valentine's Day!!

I have a quick little non-traditional Valentine card for you today featuring the Daisy Delight bundle!  With all this cold weather we've been having lately I was in the mood for something that would remind me that spring is on its way!

I have been in love with daisies since I was a little girl.  Orchids are actually my favorite flower but daisies are a very close second.  I just adore their simplicity.  Daisies are just happy flowers.  I've had the Daisy Delight bundle for a few months now but am just not getting a chance to play with it.  I. Am. In. Love.

I wanted to keep this card incredibly simple since I am still not feeling great.  I apologize for not having the exact dimensions but if you ask I can measure them for you. ;)

When I sat down to make this card I really wanted to highlight the daisy and the Delightful Daisy designer series paper, which is why I placed the daisy to the side.  I stamped two daisies in Daffodil Delight, punched them out using the daisy punch included in the Daisy Delight bundle, and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.  I also used my bone folder to curl the edges just a bit to give it more of a flower feel.  I stamped the leaves onto Old Olive cardstock using Night of Navy ink and fussy cut them out.

The flower looked a little bare so I found some So Saffron grosgrain ribbon (retired) in my stash and cut a few pieces to place underneath the daisy which really helps the yellow pop.  I cut the love from the Sunshines Wishes thinlit die set in Night of Navy using my Big Shot, and added a few pearls to the center of the daisy for a little subtle bling.

I decided to stick with the Daisy Delight stamp set and decorate the inside of my card and not opt for a Valentine's-themed sentiment since our family doesn't really celebrate Valentine's Day (and if we do it's more with candy and less with cards).  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy and the little daisy border is stamped in Daffodil Delight.

I hope you all have a LOVEly Valentine's Day!
